Content Description
This collection consists of documentation of the life of James Braxton, the second Black student to graduate from Stevens in 1937. Braxton was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin but grew up in Jersey City. He won a scholarship to Stevens and then went on to a great career as an engineer and innovator of affordable housing. He was also active in the Civil Rights Movement. There are personal and professional photographs, correspondence, articles, and ephemera in this collection.
